J-L Cauvin as Louis C.K. selling classic jokes
But what if Louis CK really did put out a new stand-up special of classic jokes? Would you love it? Would you?
Impersonation meets parody blurs reality. Enjoy!

Kudos to Seth Meyers, Louis CK and the Saturday Night Live crew for putting together this spot-on parody of “Louie” as “Lincoln.”
Filmed with the use of generators in an otherwise powerless West Village this past week in the wake of post-tropical storm Sandy. Written by Seth Meyers. The extended director’s cut features even more Mary Todd Lincoln (played by SNL rookie Aidy Bryant). Great use of CK as Lincoln even in his imagined stand-up spot at The Comedy Cellar. With Kenan Thompson and Jay Pharoah as emancipated slaves, to whom even honest Abe looks to for a “black friend.”
Watch it, share it, love it.
Will Louis CK pass his “late-night talk show” test show? Will we see more of David Lynch as his talk-show mentor? Yes to the second part, tune in Thursday for the answer to the first part on Louie!
The State of the Industry address at Montreal’s Just For Laughs is an annual highlight of comedy’s biggest festival and confab. This year, even more so. For 2012, James Adomian introduced Andy Kindler with a pitch-perfect Kindler impersonation. And Kindler ended his speech with a robotic rant about Louis CK. Yes. That happened. And the crowd, made up of comedians and industry executives, gave Kindler a standing ovation.
Read Andy Kindler’s best zingers and watch a post-speech interview with Kindler.
OK. After watching Louis CK and Jon Stewart discuss the ramifications of Daniel Tosh’s recent heckler incident, I finally weighed in on what it all means. Or might mean. You know what I mean.
Louis CK announced he’d only sell tickets to his upcoming tour through his own website for $45 each. 45 hours later, 100,000 tickets sold.
Louis CK talked about the DIY process of putting on his upcoming stand-up tour.
And don’t forget: Season three of Louie starts tonight on FX!
Louis CK, a self-proclaimed non-political comedian, decided hosting the Radio and Television Correspondents dinner in D.C. this summer (different from the WHCA gala that Seth Meyers spoke at last year), wasn’t worth fighting for. Not if right-wingers inside the Beltway like FOX News talker Greta Van Susteren were going to call for public boycotts and all.
He may or may not have had this actual look on his face when he heard politicians wanted to boycott his gig. OK. Probably. Like, really?
Before I launch myself everything-first into 2012 comedy news and infotainment, let’s take a couple of last looks back at 2011.
I crunched the stats to determine the 10 most popular posts on The Comic’s Comic in 2011. Not surprisingly, Louis CK made the list. More than once.
