The Purple Onion, San Francisco’s iconic intimate comedy club that played host to Zach Galifianakis, Phyllis Diller, Patton Oswalt, Greg Proops, The Smothers Brothers, Woody Allen, Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, Moshe Kasher, Brent Weinbach and the new generation of San Francisco comedians, is scheduled to close Oct. 1.
